We have a new home away from home!
Starting June 3rd, we will hold services at the Denver Turnverein, 1570 Clarkson. Services will start at 9:00am. We will meet at the Turnverein until we are able to return to our building, hopefully some time in July.
Construction is progressing...
Our contractor JHL and our project team are hard at work!
Randy Copeland, our project manager, and the JHL construction crew are making good progress in transforming our church home into a more beautiful and functional space. As you can imagine with a 125 year old building that had a fire and major renovation 30 years ago, the crew has run into twists and turns they weren’t expecting. Running new ductwork for the heating and cooling system has been especially challenging. Nine new footings, one of which had to go over a sewer line, were poured in the basement to support the nanowall that will run between the sanctuary and community room.
At this point, we're looking at possibly being back in the building sometime in July 2018.
The building won't be open to public access until the project is fully completed. This means that we won't be able to return to the sanctuary before the community room and kitchen are done. Depending on when construction starts, we may be back in the building in April.
Randy Copeland and our architect, Eidos, have done an amazing job of shepherding this project through the city departments. We are very fortunate to have such a great team!
This project is partially funded by a State Historical Fund grant award from the Colorado Historical Society with the assistance of Historic Denver, Inc.
